Solar Integrated Roof Tile Systems

Solar integration is solar power technology that has been built directly into mainstream exterior building products such as roofing materials, [All in One roof covering and clean solar energy producing system.

A Solar Tile Roof, like All Solar Roofs from around the world [including Tesla] are comprised of both, Non-Active [non solar producing] roof covering material and Active solar energy producing roof covering material.
Expect slight visual variations between the two.

The Active and Non-active roof covering material , fit together seamlessly, creating the most esthetically pleasing, sustainable, energy-producing & energy efficient, and safe Solar Roof systems.

Active Roof Material

Is roof covering material that has had solar energy collection components [solar cells, electrical wiring glass,] built-in directly, and has the ability to produce clean solar energy.

Active roof tiles are joined by electrical string lines that are hidden out of sight/underneath and then connected to an inverter and or battery backup system.

Non-Active Roof Material

Is standard roof covering material that does not have the ability to produce clean solar energy, though does contribute to the Cool Roof energy-saving element of a Solar Tile Roof.

Is typically readily available, architectural high-grade mainstream roof products and much less expensive compared to Active roof covering material.

A must on every solar roof, because they offer passive relief of energy [ cool roof] and are required to be cut on site to fit /to accommodate roof protrusions and transition areas.

How a Solar Roof Works

Based on the client’s energy consumption requirements and the available roof space and sunlight at the project location, a solar engineer creates a layout indicating the optimum energy producing roof area for placement of the Active roof material covering, while the balance of roof area receives the Non-Active roof covering.

When the sunlight hits the Active area, it is absorbed by solar cells to produce an electric current. This direct current (DC) energy is then sent to your solar inverter, which converts it to alternating current (AC) energy that can power your whole home and or be stored in a battery backup system.

When a system produces excess power that isn’t used by the home, this power may be stored in a battery backup – energy stored will continue to run your home at night or keep it stored to maximize your home’s available energy in the event of an outage [and charge an electric car].

Manage your system with a variety of available solar Apps and customize your system production to fit your preferences. Control your system with 24/7 mobile monitoring from anywhere in the world.

A Solar Tile Roof may only be installed by pre-qualified Installation Contracting Service Providers utilizing well-known and practiced PV electrical installation standards & guidelines and roof tile installation standards per the NEC, TRI, ASTM & CSA.

Specifically, the roof tile installation must be performed per extreme weather conditions and advanced ventilation practices, specifically an elevated batten or the patented raised clip systems in order to qualify as an energy-saving Cool Roof.
