Cool Roof

All roofing material is intended to be installed utilizing TRI, ASTM and CSA tile roof advanced installation standards for extreme weather conditions; specifically, ventilation in conjunction with an elevated batten system.

California Building Code recognizes Elevated Batten System® as a cool roof option, meeting the minimum 0.85 R value for insulation above the roof deck.

The Solteq-Marley system also receives Cool Roof eligibility when utilizing the Solteq patented elevated clip system in conjunction with TRI, ASTM and CSA tile roof advanced standards for extreme weather conditions; specifically ventilation.

A critical component of a Cool Roof system is allowing continuous air flow ventilation from eaves to ridges and hips. The ventilation cools the roof in hot weather, exhausting heated air between the tile and the deck out the ridges and hips while breathing in fresh air at the eaves, while the passive non-active roof tiles keep out the cold and reflect the heat.

Elevating the battens adds air space that insulates the attic space to save additional energy in hot and cold weather.

Additionally, some Active roof tiles have specific engineered independent cooling features.
