A device that reserves energy for later consumption that is charged by a connected solar system. The stored electricity may be consumed after sundown, during energy demand peaks, or during a power outage.
Energy Audit
Clients’ energy consumption requirements are the most significant elements of project pricing. Utilizing the information in Client-provided energy utility providers billing, and through the Client consult, solar engineers are able to determine the amount of energy the home is currently consuming as well as determine any additional future energy requirements. The solar engineers are then able to calculate the amount of solar energy that is required for a roof to produce. Only once the amount of active [energy producing] roof tiles required for a roof is determined are the rest of the project pricing elements may proceed.
Energy equipment
Solar roof tiles are compatible with a variety of inverters, battery backups, and complete system monitoring Apps, providing clients with a variety of accessory options.
Clients have the option to select accessories at the original time of a Solar Tile Roof purchase or add accessories at a later date. Though a standard solar inverter is a mandatory system requirement and will be included in budget pricing.
Clients, during the budget pricing consult, are advised to inform the Solar Tile Roof representative of any specific energy accessories requirements they are particularly interested in purchasing immediately and or possibly in the future.
Project Regional Location & Weather
Clients that are farther away from distribution centers and high-volume sales and installation areas typically have a higher cost due to additional shipping and the possibility of traveling labor due to the lack of local Installation Contracting Service Providers.
Regional weather conditions dictate install availability as well as installation material and techniques. Typically, Regions with the most severe and variable weather conditions require superior roofing material and labor skills.
Note – Project location service and date for install may also be affected by regional weather.
Solar Array Design
The goal for a solar engineer is to first determine the amount of energy a client requires Energy Audit which will then determine how many active roof tiles are required to be applied to the roof to create the energy.
To achieve maximum energy output from the active roof tiles solar energy utilizes roof space and available sunlight at project location information to determine the optimum roof placement for the active roof tiles.
The non-active roof tile is then applied to the balance of the roof area [typically the larger portion of the roof].
Upon determining the roof placement of the active and the non-active roof tiles, the solar engineer will then lay out the scope of installation work required for the entire roof area – specifically indicating to the Installation Contactor Service Providers where each tile and the electrical line is to be placed.
Solar inverter
An essential piece of equipment needed for all solar power systems.
Simply put, a solar inverter transforms the direct current energy generated by a Solar Tile Roof to alternating current, this is required so that your home and utility grid can use the energy created.
Waterproofing & Roof Finishing Material
Once the energy-producing aspect of the roof has been defined, the focus is now placed on the balance of roofing material required.
A qualified roof tile installation expert will review the entire roof area to determine the most prudent type of weatherproofing and roof finish material required as well as recommend the most practical means of material application.
Roof size and complexity are considered the main drivers in determining the aforementioned, though Project Regional location & weather is also driving factor.
